2008 Computer Take Back Event Print E-mail

The 2008 Computer Take-Back event in conjunction with Earth Day, was a great success!

With the help of sponsors Hewlett Packard, and Fairfax County's Solid Waste Management Program and with gifts from Home Depot, we collected over 245 computers, printers, monitors, scanners, handheld devices, cell phones, and peripherals (keyboards, mice, or cords).  Cell phones will be sent to our partners at Cell Phones for Soldiers.

Over 29 CPUs and 45 computer monitors were collected. Big donors included Ross and Phyllis Black of Rosehill Texaco (5514 Franconia Road, Alexandria), and James Cabrera of Rocket Communications.  Thank you!

If you were one of our donors, make sure you check your new Compact Fluorescent Light Bulb!  If it glows green when you turn it on, you've won a $5000 gift certificate to Home Depot! Let us know!

Many thanks to all who joined in this meaningful and fun event!
