The goal of the Financial Education Center for Women Entrepreneurs (FEC) is to inform, educate, mentor and empower women business owners in the effective management of their money. The Center represents both a proactive and preventive resource for women to prepare themselves financially across their life transitions.


The FEC offers both personal and business finacial education classes. Please see the class schedule to register for the classes. In addition the the Personal Financial Education classes we are providers of the VIDA Program, Virginia Individual Development Account, where a low income business owner with a child under the age of 18 can open a savings account that will be matched 2:1.

Featured Presenters
Mary Grate-Pyos is President of Financially Focused, Inc. and Author of Wealthy Woman - Wise Choices. Her focus is two-fold: to educate and empower others to move from frustration to financial freedom by making wise choices in their money matters; and to assist clients in accumulating wealth for peace of mind and financial security. Through energetic seminars and various speaking opportunities, she speaks to thousands of women to deliver an urgent financial message that empowers them to claim financial freedom in their personal lives, as well as in their business pursuits.

Louis Hutt is a native of St. Louis, Missouri where he attended Washington University. Upon earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1976, he joined Ernst and Young Certified Public Accountants. As a Certified Public Accountant he participated in audits of both small and large corporations including several Fortune 500 companies. In 1978, while with Ernst and Young, Louis served as the firm's visiting professor of Accounting at Morgan State University for one year. Louis returned to Morgan as an adjunct member of the Accounting faculty in 1982, and remained for six years.
