Effective January 1, 2007, this program is required of ALL new clients prior to taking other classes or scheduling counseling sessions.

This is the place to start! Our free one hour orientation workshop will help you understand all the resources, programs and services provided by the Community Business Partnership programs: The Women's Business Center, the South Fairfax Small Business Development Center, the Business Finance Center, the Financial Education Center for Women Entrepreneurs, and the Business Incubation Center.

Come learn how we work, and how we can best serve you as you start and grow your business! Learn about the free one on one counseling that is available from our staff and community of volunteer professionals! Learn how to navigate our web sites and register for classes! Learn about special events! Learn about our other local resource partners and the US Small Business Administration services. Offered the second and fourth Thursday evenings each month from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm OR the third Thursday morning of each month from 8:00 am - 9:00 am. Join us soon and get all the great news! What the Small Business Owner Should Know

About Bankruptcy: Lunch & Learn SeriesSign up

The establishment and operation of a small business entails risk.  Many small businesses do not take advantage of the laws that have been designed to protect small business owner and to encourage the formation of small businesses to minimizing risks. Every small business should be started and operated within a manner that anticipates failure but does not expect it to fail.
 
Gregory M. Wade, Esq. will conduct this class in 3 parts which will include the following topics:

1.  Protecting personal assets from Business Bankruptcy in the event of the business failing.
2. How to properly set-up the business entity to minimize the risk to personal assets.
3. An overview of the bankruptcy system.
4. How to hold family and personals assets to minimize the risk of loss of those assets to business creditors.
5. The use of corporations, LLC's, trusts, and other techniques to avoid risks and enhance profits.
