Brenda Quiroz-Maday, Director

Brenda Quiroz-Maday was born into an entrepreneurial family where she participated at a young age in her father’s business. This experience motivated her to focus her professional career toward different aspects of business development and to become an entrepreneur herself.
She has nine years of professional experience focused on applying business development, facilitation and training, project management, and technical assistance to resolve business, energy and environmental challenges. She has researched and implemented projects with international experts from Germany, China and Mexico in a wide variety of industrial, service, and governmental sectors.
As an entrepreneur, Ms. Quiroz-Maday provided consulting services for the German Agency for International Cooperation, Energy Markets Group, Institute of International Education, among others, in a large variety of business development and project implementation areas including technical and competitive research for proposals, market related informational white papers, and project management.
Ms. Quiroz-Maday is the former Director of our cousin organization the Women’s Business Center (WBC) and has worked as a business counselor at the D.C. Small Business Development Center and the EPA Outreach Center where she helped business owners understand and manage EPA’s procurement landscape and comply with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), develop business strategies and plans, and improve organizational operations in order to become more sustainable and competitive.
Ms. Quiroz-Maday has an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Polytechnic Institute (Instituto Politecnico Nacional) in Mexico City and she obtained her Masters in Business Administration from Georgetown University.
